Our programs

We offer both full-time and internship opportunities and there are four programs in Global Markets that you can apply for:

  • Analyst Program
  • Associate Program
  • Summer Analyst Program
  • Summer Associate Program

We are hiring into our hubs in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Analyst / Associate Program

The Analyst / Associate Program is a one-year program and usually commences in July every year. You will spend your first year rotating across 5 to 6 different products and desks within Global Markets, where you obtain hands-on experience in core functions, and establish professional network with key product expertise. The Program is then concluded with a placement process, where you are assigned to a host function based on business needs alongside your area of interest.

Apart from on-the-job training, all Analysts and Associates attend a 12-day in-country induction program (MAX) as well as a 5-week regional development program (MAGIC) at either Shanghai or Manila in their first year. The MAX Program offers an overview of products across franchises, and provides excellent networking opportunities with all in-country new campus recruits and business managers across businesses. The MAGIC Program, on the other hand, builds on the MAX Program and offers a comprehensive foundation of institutional banking and markets products through a combination of classroom lectures, group projects and presentations.

The Analyst / Associate Program is demanding and your learning curve will be steep. However, you will not be bored and will constantly be faced with new challenges. Your Mentor and Buddy are also there to help you navigate through the organization and offer you work and career advice. Throughout your career with Global Markets, you can participate in a wide range of technical or professional development programs, and may also have the opportunity to work in other locations regionally or internationally.

Summer Analyst / Associate Program

The Summer Analyst / Associate Program targets at penultimate year university students, and is tailored for those who plan to start their career in Global Markets after graduation from school. The Program is 8 to 10 weeks long and commences in mid-June every year. You will be assigned to a function within Global Markets based on business needs alongside your area of interest.

Apart from on-the-job training with your host function, you will take part in ‘Markets University’, a unique knowledge sharing and training program that spans across the duration of your internship. The program consists of orientation, classroom training, self-learning opportunities, lecture series, networking events, etc. and is carefully designed to help Summer Analysts and Associates assimilate into the Global Markets organization, strengthen their technical skills, and enrich their overall learning experience.

The Summer Analyst / Associate Program is demanding yet rewarding. You will constantly be faced with new challenges and assignments that are of real business impact. You will also develop a professional rapport with your assigned Mentor and Buddy, who can offer you his or her experience, knowledge, and guidance throughout your internship.

The Program also serves as a platform for us to identify outstanding individuals who can make a difference and demonstrate an ability to bring about change in the future. Very often, Summer Analysts and Associates who perform and exceed expectations will be considered and propelled ahead of their peers in the interview process for full time positions.
