Analyst

Analysts may join Citi Technology as an Infrastructure Analyst or an Application Developer Analyst and will support either our Corporate, Institutional Clients Group (ICG) or Global Wealth Management (GWM) businesses.  

Roles an Analyst may undertake:

In the Infrastructure Analyst role you will provide hardware, operating systems, and telecommunication products and services to our Corporate and GWM businesses.  Technology Infrastructure offers exciting opportunities in business analysis, control, production support, project administration, quality assurance and business continuity. In addition it provides voice, e-mail, Internet, data processing and desktop support. Technology Infrastructure provides market data services, system and database administration functions, as well as operates the Firm’s data centers, command and customer service centers, security control devices, gateways for remote access, mobile computing technologies, and host and server systems.

An Analyst joining an Infrastructure team may translate business requirements and needs into information technology solutions, bridging the gap between various businesses and the Technology staff.  Key responsibilities range tremendously and may include assisting with the oversight and administration of global networks and looking to integrate/leverage each through automation to improve overall network efficiency, evaluating, analyzing and reengineering and/or creating business processes between Citi Technology Infrastructure and Citi businesses to enable operational efficiencies and improved client management and working to minimize the potential of introducing risk by implementing the necessary controls into our systems environment and provide end-to-end service to our customers. This quality service results in the highest achievable levels of customer satisfaction and recognition for excellence.

In the Application Developer Track you will work hand-in-hand with the world's leading computer and software technologies to develop new components and enhance existing platforms to provide competitive advantage to many of the key business functions within Citi’s ICG and GWM businesses.  You will learn how to architect, design, and build some of the largest and most global solutions available in the financial service market. You will gain exposure to breakthrough technologies before they become available, and also work extensively with existing Service Oriented Architectures and Web Services Frameworks. You will gain exposure to market leading technologies platforms, such as BEA Weblogic, IBM Websphere, and Oracle.

An Analyst joining an Application Developer team may get involved with an existing application or with a brand new application. The most general parts of an application include but are not limited to front end, back end, maintenance, and support. Responsibilities range tremendously and may include setting the life cycle for a project, interacting with the businesses and the specific users that are requesting the development of the application, collaborating with other groups within Technology on the application development, as well as interacting with external contacts. Just in the implementation process, a developer may work on the user interface, coding in various languages, database, talking with the business side, testing, demonstration, documents and more.
